Ham Here!

Stop shouting into the static. Find out who is actually on the air locally.

About the App

Every amateur radio operator knows the frustration: dialing through local repeater slots, dropping your callsign, and getting nothing back but silence. Are the repeaters quiet, or are you just on the wrong frequency?

Ham Here! bridges the gap between digital coordination and real-world RF. It is a utility designed exclusively for amateur radio operators to signal their presence, discover active infrastructure, and foster real-time conversations on local airwaves. Ham Here! is intended to encourage more use of local repeaters and the national calling frequencies. We are not interested in becoming a repeater directory. The app was made solely for increasing repeater usage.

The idea is pretty simple. Once logged in, using either your devices built-in GPS, lat/long or City and State, the app will pull local repeaters in range according to the filter options you’ve chosen. You can then choose to “check-in” to a repeater you’re tuned into along with an optional note. Other local users of the app can see your call sign checked-in! The banner at the top is a convenient way to quickly let others know if you’re monitoring 2m simplex. More features to come provided enough hams use the app. We’re currently pulling the repeater info from amateurrepeaterdirectory.org so the list isn’t as comprehensive as it could be and is exclusively US-based at this time.
